Acts 2 describes the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the birth of God’s new family—the church—and how this newly constituted family lived. Worshipful fear of the Lord fell upon everyone as they saw many great miracles signs and wonders. All the believers shared what they had with others. They had a high commitment to one another. They met each other’s needs. They truly lived like family. They met together daily in homes and in the larger temple court area in Jerusalem. They took communion and ate meals together, sharing their food with great joy and continually praising God. Everyone in the community was honored, given dignity, and highly favored. Every day was lived in the very presence of Jesus. Every conversation and every motive of their heart was pierced and tempered with the knowledge of His presence in their lives. And God added to their number daily, those who were being saved.

In this same manner, we have meetings every day of the week. Most of these meetings are in people’s homes. We gather for prayer, worship, to share food, and study the Bible together. We meet in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake.
